HookScores™ Documentation

Everything you need to understand how the Scroll-Stop Analysis™ engine works — from platform-specific scoring to audience calibration and content format optimization.

Understanding the Scoring Engine

The HookScores™ Scroll-Stop Analysis™ engine evaluates every piece of content across 8 weighted dimensions. These dimensions are not static — they adapt dynamically based on four key variables: the platform where your content will be posted, your content objective, yourtarget audience, and the content format.

This documentation covers each of these variables in depth, explaining how they influence scoring weights, what optimization strategies apply, and how to use HookScores™ most effectively for your specific use case.

For a high-level overview of the 8 scoring dimensions, read our blog post on the8 dimensions of high-performance content. For platform-specific algorithm deep dives, explore ourblog.

Quick Reference: The 8 Dimensions

Every hook analyzed by HookScores™ receives a score from 0 to 100 based on these 8 core dimensions. The relative weight of each dimension changes based on your selected platform and objective.

Documentation FAQ

How often is the scoring engine updated?

The scoring weights and platform calibration are updated regularly to reflect algorithm changes. Major platform updates (like Instagram or TikTok algorithm shifts) are typically incorporated within 2-4 weeks.

Can I use HookScores™ for ad creatives?

Yes. HookScores™ works for any content that needs to capture attention — including Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, YouTube pre-rolls, and LinkedIn Sponsored Content. Select "Ad" as the content format for optimized scoring weights.

What score should I aim for?

Scores above 70 indicate strong structural alignment. Scores between 50-70 have identifiable weaknesses worth fixing. Below 50 means significant structural issues that are likely hurting performance. Focus on fixing your #1 bottleneck dimension first for the biggest improvement.
